Palawan listed in world’s most beautiful islands

2019/10/01

Looks like Palawan is being recognized for its pristine beaches and clear water...again! CNN Travel recently included the Philippines’ beautiful island in their 2019 edition of the top 10 of the world’s most beautiful islands.

Palawan was praised for having abundant cliffs and verdant mangroves, with El Nido admired as an “exclusive paradise getaway.”

CNN’s Jen Rose Smith noted that Palawan’s “most remarkable hiding place might be in Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where an underground river slips through a maze of limestone caverns.”

The Department of Tourism welcomes the continuous recognition of Palawan, “Our rehabilitation efforts to preserve the beauty of Palawan did not go unnoticed. We are thankful for this CNN citation of our tourist destinations,” Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said.

Palawan continues to be one of the world’s go-to places as it has also been included in the 2019 Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Award, the Most Beautiful Island in the World by Huffington Post in 2014, second place in Travel+Leisure’s ranking of the World’s Best Islands, and more!

Joining the list are islands such as Milos, Greece; Bartolomé, Ecuador; Fregate, Seychelles; St. Lucia, Lesser Antilles; Jura, Scotland; Komodo Island, Indonesia; and Kaua’i, United States.
