Forbes Travel Guide recently released its list of Best Hotel Bars in the world and The Bar at The Peninsula Manila snagged a spot in their esteemed list!
Fobes collected comprehensive data from the company’s inspectors who stayed at the hotels anonymously. They then evaluated the hotels based on 900 standards for the guide’s annual Star Ratings, this was unveiled in February.
In particular, the inspectors observed elements of luxury: did the beverages have a distinctive presentation? Were the snacks of high-quality? Was the overall bar experience impressive and world-class?
The Peninsula Manila is the only Philippine Bar Hotel that made the cut. According to Forbes, the bar hotel’s interior took a lot of inspiration from an old Cuban cigar factory as the room is bedecked in checkered flooring and wood walls.
Vintage artefacts from around the world, as well as black and white photography, cover the walls. The room also features dim lighting, giving off a comforting and soothing ambiance perfect for relaxing after a busy day.
The Bar’s pica-pica or finger food were also praised, in particular, the pork sisig croquetas (balls of creamy béchamel and crispy pork) and Sriracha butter duck wings, and sip on the Batangas Old Fashioned Kapeng Barako.
